Participating in musical experiences with your children or grandchildren is a wonderful way to foster creativity while also developing academic and social skills. This summer, stay cool and share the world’s music and cultures with your family at MIM. Connect with your children over music at a MIMkids class, explore our vibrant galleries, make some music together in the Experience Gallery, and relax in our Family Center. Introduce your little one (ages 5 and under) to the wide and wonderful world of music at Mini Music Makers, an early childhood music and movement course. Offered on select Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, Mini Music Makers explores a new musical culture every four weeks through singing, dancing, and music making. Drop in for a class or join us for a four-week session. At Musical Adventures, children ages 6 to 10 participate in music making, create instruments, and explore MIM’s galleries. Summer classes take place on the second Saturday and third Friday of each month. At the end of my first visit to this spectacular museum, my face literally ached from three solid hours of smiling. . . .
