Never fearful of hitting those high notes, she brought an alt-Kelly Clarkson vibe to the music. . . . She could have a long career in the Americana genre. At times, she even sounded like Bonnie Raitt.

Maddie Poppe burst onto the scene after winning American Idol in 2018. The following year, the Iowa native released her debut album, Whirlwind, which featured the hit singles “Made You Miss” and “Not Losing You” and captured the attention of fans and listeners with her folksy singer-songwriter style.
Poppe can still very much bowl over a crowd with nothing more than her honeyed voice and an acoustic guitar, but she has upped her game by tapping into a modern sound that blends R&B, pop, and Americana. She is also committed to writing her own songs and telling her own stories in her own voice. With a newfound momentum and passion for music, Poppe is ready to play her new material onstage on a headlining summer tour—songs such as her latest single, “Good Enough to Let You Go.”
Music has always been a strong presence in Megan Danielle’s life. She started performing at 15 at restaurants in her hometown of Douglasville, Georgia, and in early 2023 she was runner-up on season 21 of American Idol. Her first official post-Idol single, “Dream Girl,” is available now.
