The John Jorgenson Quintet creates a unique musical experience that enthralls casual and discerning music fans alike. The ensemble formed in 2004 for the release of Jorgenson’s Franco-American Swing. Its style is inspired by the dynamic string-driven swing created by Django Reinhardt and Stéphane Grappelli in 1930s Paris, but Jorgenson’s compositions draw in elements from Latin, Romanian, Greek, classical, and rock music.
The John Jorgenson Quintet is the only American act to ever headline the prestigious Festival Django Reinhardt in France and has been featured at Django-celebrating festivals in the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, and Canada.
