A very talented young lady . . . EmiSunshine is taking the nation by storm.
—No Depression
Rolling Stone named 15-year-old EmiSunshine among “10 New Country Artists You Need to Know,” but she is more than country. With music described as “old-timey,” the East Tennessee native adds her own unique contemporary blend of roots music that is equal parts Americana, bluegrass, gospel, blues, and jazz. Critics have compared her to a young Janis Joplin, Iris DeMent, and Dolly Parton.
EmiSunshine has been attracting national attention since she was 9 years old, with appearances on The Today Show, NBC’s Little Big Shots, Pickler & Ben, the Grand Ole Opry (14 times) and elsewhere. In 2018, she was featured in the Grammy-nominated motion picture The King, for which she wrote and performed two original songs—“Johnny, June and Jesus” and “Danny Ray,” both of which are on her most recent album, Ragged Dreams. With adoring fans numbered in the millions, EmiSunshine has been praised by the likes of Loretta Lynn, Emmylou Harris, Tim McGraw, Ricky Skaggs, Marty Stuart, and the Grateful Dead, to name just a few.
Lately, EmiSunshine has been spending time in Nashville, collaborating with a host of top singer-songwriters like Jeffrey Steele, Leslie Satcher, Jim Lauderdale, Kyle Jacobs, and others. Her latest album, Family Wars, produced by four-time Grammy-winning producer Tony Brown in Nashville, will be released on October 18.
