Tragedy & Triumph: The Soldier’s Tale & Headcase. Robert Moody conducts the Arizona Musicfest Chamber Players

Two remarkable works, Igor Stravinsky’s The Soldier’s Tale and the Arizona premiere of Brett William Dietz’s Headcase, to be performed by the Arizona Musicfest Chamber Players (members of the all-star Arizona Musicfest Orchestra)—this is a concert unlike any other! A modern Faust, The Soldier’s Tale is filled with Stravinsky’s characteristic melodic edginess and syncopated rhythms. Dietz’s Headcase is a powerful work that transforms a personal story into a universal one, capturing the composer’s recovery from a stroke at the age of 29.

There will be a Q&A after the performance with Brett Dietz and the Arizona Musicfest Artistic Director, Robert Moody.
