The music of Simon Townshend captures a particularly personal quality that gives him a charismatic and relatable style. He draws on his own identification with music and the depth with which his family is steeped in it, creating a sound familiar but unique from his brother, Pete Townshend of the Who.
Simon Townshend has worked on and off with the Who since 1975 and has received rave reviews for his work as a touring guitarist and vocalist on the band’s “Quadrophenia and More” Tour. He has also collaborated with artists ranging from Jeff Beck to Dave Grohl. Townshend’s solo work is equally as impressive, with seven solo albums under his belt and an extensive touring schedule with his own band.
“A fresh, compact sound and style all of its own. . . . There is a restless energy about these songs which is utterly compelling. . . . A genuinely original talent.”—Sunday Express (UK)
“Buoyant melodies . . . soaring vocal harmonies . . . irresistible chorus hooks pushed and pulled by the refreshing optimism of Simon’s voice.”—Washington PostBack to Concerts
