Uniting communities through music

Music lovers around the world will gather to support music education and social action on Saturday, September 23, as part of the Seventh Annual Playing For Change Day. MIM is proud to participate in this year’s global event.

Playing For Change Day was created in 2011 to unite communities through musical arts, while raising awareness and resources for educational programs worldwide. It has expanded over the years to include more than three hundred synchronized events in over fifty countries on six continents.

On September 23, musicians and fans will gather for performances, including live-streamed events, in public spaces, community centers, theaters, and schools, in a single, unified expression of positive change.

Blues singer Samantha Fish will be performing at the MIM Music Theater on Playing For Change Day. Fish won Best New Artist for her album Runway at the 2012 Blues Music Awards in Memphis, Tennessee, and continues to rise as an artist on the blues scene. At the show, guests will be able to learn more about Playing For Change Day and the Playing For Change Foundation.
