Martin Sexton

Opening Act: The Accidentals
Martin Sexton was one of the most talked-about arrivals on the “new folk” acoustic music scene. The guitarist, singer, and songwriter has an amazing vocal range and makes effective use of it on his recordings and in his live shows. Unlike so many other contemporary singer-songwriters, he has a vocal style that can be described as truly soulful, combining the best qualities of singers such as Van Morrison, Al Green, Aaron Neville, and Otis Redding.

Sexton’s songs can be heard in many feature films and television shows, including NBC’s Scrubs and Parenthood and Showtime’s hit series Brotherhood. When Sexton isn’t touring, he often mixes entertainment with his sense of social responsibility, performing at benefits for Paul Newman’s Hole in the Wall Gang Camp, the Children’s Tumor Foundation, the Japan earthquake and tsunami relief (The John Lennon Tribute), and Hurricane Irene’s relief efforts in Vermont.

Rolling Stone has called Sexton “the real thing (and) a star with potential to permanently affect the musical landscape and keep us entertained for years to come.”

“His outstanding taste in songwriting as well as a soul marinated voice that can easily be compared to the likes of a young Steve Winwood or Van Morrison.”—Rolling Stone

“The best live performer I’ve ever seen. I may just quit my job and go follow Martin and make a fuss everywhere I go, just to make sure that people don’t go their lives without hearing this man sing to them.”—John Mayer

The Accidentals
This group was named Billboard’s Breakout Band at the South by Southwest (SXSW) Conference and Festival in 2015. Multi-instrumentalists Katie Larson and Sav Buist have created quite a name for themselves among music lovers of all genres. They have been described as “a duo giving an edge to folk with unique instrumentation.” In 2014, the Accidentals added Michael Dause on drums and percussion. They have toured the nation and opened for many renowned artists, including Joan Baez, Arlo Guthrie, Keller Williams, Carbon Leaf, JohnnySwim, and Darlingside.
