Karla Bonoff has been described as one of the finest singer-songwriters of her generation. That description is not hyperbole. With a career spanning four decades, she has enjoyed critical acclaim, commercial success, enduring popularity, and the unwavering respect of her peers. In addition to her own recordings, Bonoff has seen her songs become hits for Bonnie Raitt, Wynonna Judd, and Linda Ronstadt. Many of Bonoff’s ballads are classics, including “I Can’t Hold On” and “Home.” She has continued to tour extensively, playing sold-out shows around the world. Hearing her moving vocals on her rich, expressive songs is like standing beneath a sparkling waterfall, and experiencing them live can be transformative.
Bonoff’s legacy as a writer and her perseverance as a performer are described best in a Billboard magazine review of her “All My Life” recording: “Long before Alanis and Jewel, there was a breed of singer-songwriters whose earthly anthems of soul-searching, heartache and joy touched souls in a way few can muster today.”
“The truth is, Bonoff continues to carry all her notes. With integrity and clarity and admirable modulation, she belts out her lyrics. And she hits artistic grace notes, whether on piano or guitar.”—Denver Post
“It would be hard to find a Californian singer-songwriter with a better pedigree than Karla Bonoff.”—Times Union (Albany, New York)Back to Concerts
