“All That Jazz” month celebrates the opening of four new exhibits in November at MIM: Early Jazz, Jazz, Women in Jazz, and Latin Jazz.Included in the festivities is a special screening of the award-winning film The Girls in the Band. The movie will be followed by a moderated audience Q&A with three musicians, Roz Cron, Noriko Ueda, and Tomoko Ohno, who are featured in the film.
THE GIRLS IN THE BAND tells the poignant, untold stories of female jazz and big-band instrumentalists and their fascinating, groundbreaking journeys from the late 1930s to the present, when brilliantly gifted young women now go toe-to-toe with the finest jazz musicians of the day.
