Extreme Acoustic Guitar

I Am AZ Music®

Bill Dutcher
When Bill Dutcher picks up an acoustic guitar, the music that fills the room cannot be branded with a simple sentence. When you see him play live, you are experiencing an event that shatters the preconceived notion of what a solo acoustic artist is capable of. You are witnessing the fusion of six strings, ten fingers, unorthodox instruments, and various electronics that blend a unique cocktail of rock, blues, classical, Middle Eastern, and Celtic flavors into an acoustic symphony. When he walks on stage, all rules are thrown out the window and an improvisational circus explodes before your eyes. Every part of the guitar is fair game as he makes it growl, whine, and sing to the pounding percussive pops, slaps, and pings that emanate from the guitar.

Chuck Hall
Chuck Hall has been a treasured mainstay on the Arizona music scene since his arrival in 1984. An inductee of the Arizona Blues Hall of Fame since 2000, he has earned accolades and respect from fans and critics alike, along with his bands: Texas Red and the Heartbreakers, Chuck Hall and the Brick Wall, and the Chuck Hall Band. Over the years, he has opened for many iconic greats, including B. B. King, Albert Collins, Robert Cray, Robin Trower, the Marshall Tucker Band, Cheap Trick, Gregg Allman, and Los Lobos.

His latest album, Rewired!, comes after forty years of being hailed a “master of the blues” for his electric guitar virtuosity. The album is an eclectic blend of musical influences that have impacted Hall’s life—from his Louisiana roots, his classically trained pianist mother, his father’s record collection of jazz, big band, Henry Mancini, and Dixieland to the blues, rock ’n’ roll, and R&B tunes he heard daily on the radio.

Stan Sorenson
Stan Sorenson melds a variety of musical styles with his traditional jazz sounds. Cool, bebop, Latin beat, and today’s contemporary jazz are combined to create his unique flavor. Known for his fiery performances, Sorenson has a vast repertoire that includes original compositions and jazz standards. He also draws on modern rock and pop classics by Sting / The Police, Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, the Beatles, Steely Dan, Stone Temple Pilots, Oasis, and Green Day. Sorenson also plays the electric sitar guitar and electric oud.

Sorenson has performed with music greats such as Nancy Wilson, Rosemary Clooney, Vic Damone, Jeffrey Osborne, the Fifth Dimension, Jimmy Smith, George Benson, and Joey DeFrancesco.
