“Few performers seem as truly comfortable on stage, or can make an audience feel as comfortable, as Judy Collins does.”—Brian Scott Lipton, TheaterMania
“A Judy Collins concert is a seamless flow of music and storytelling. . . . In recent years Ms. Collins has descended from the folk-goddess pedestal to emerge as a funny, self-effacing Irish-American storyteller, and the tension between her pristine singing voice and her salty reminiscences lends her shows a theatrical dimension.”—Stephen Holden, New York Times
Folk music doesn’t produce stars bigger than Judy Collins. For nearly 50 years, she has been performing and recording folk, pop, and art music at a very high level. A classical piano prodigy, Collins turned to folk music early on, embracing the social and musical elements of the movement. Her performances since the mid-1970s have balanced her original material with her other hits and gems by artists such as the Beatles and Harry Chapin—all showcases for her haunting, focused voice.
