Featuring Greg Leisz, Jenny Scheinman, Tony Scherr, and Kenny Wollesen
Bill Frisell is one of the few pioneers of guitar to build his legacy out of finding a unique and captivating sound within his instrument. His skill and versatility allow him to draw deeply from the many layers of John Lennon’s music in All We Are Saying, where he pays homage to Lennon with Americana flavors.
By searching out his own signature sound, Frisell has set himself apart from other jazz guitarists and has become one of the most sought-after guitar voices in contemporary music. Frisell has won a GRAMMY Award for Best Contemporary Jazz Album, and he was named a United States Artist Rasmuson Fellow in 2006. His musical collaborations have included working with Elvis Costello, Loudon Wainwright III, Rickie Lee Jones, and Bono.
“It’s hard to find a more fruitful meditation on American music than in the compositions of guitarist Bill Frisell. Mixing rock and country with jazz and blues, he’s found what connects them: improvisation and a sense of play.”—New York Times
“Frisell is a revered figure among musicians―like Miles Davis and few others, his signature is built from pure sound and inflection; an anti-technique that is instantly identifiable.”—Philadelphia Inquirer
